28April to 30 April 2022

Leaving Uvongo at 06.00 0n Wednesday 28 April 2022 we set our sights on Lesotho, our first stop over was Golden Gate Nature Reserve, where we spent the first night, Adele had made a pot of soup which we took along for dinner.

during supper we discussed the next days starting time, Louise had made all the accommodation arrangements for our trip, so we did not have to worry where we going to overnight. we left the next morning around 08.30, our first stop was to make sure we enough diesel in our vehicles, followed by a quick breakfast. After breakfast we set off for the Celadon Border Post, both the South African and the Lesotho Border Post were very clean and tidy. travelling though Lesotho we found the roads well maintained, I can’t remember seeing a bord indicating the speed which you should travel, but I understand why not, you just can’t travel mor than 80/90 k/h

I’m sure the ice never melts on the mountains in Lesotho, while travelling you see a lot of water falls from big to small.

Travelling though Lesotho to Sani Pass was well worth it, the number of waterfalls which we saw, was spectacular, our overnight stop before we reached Sani was a place called Montsebo B&B. which was very well run , we had arranged to have dinner there, during dinner Adele and I discussed operating from the B&B the next morning using our Lesotho call signs which are 7P8ST and 7P8AT, I decided to set up our station in the car park using the tail gate of our 4×4 as a table from 05.00 UTC
a

During the 1 hour we operated both Adele and I made 24 contacts using our Lesotho call signs
